Invoking the Energy Signiture

The peak of the ritual is when the priest invokes the Angel, Prah Chai Monkol, into the statue. This part of the ritual is very Hindu in origin. The priest raises the statue from the kan kru bowl with his left hand. He then dips his right pointer finger into a small tub of scented talc paste called banglam and while chanting dabs it onto the statue in three places; the chest, the feet and the money bag. The landlord will then proceed to stick gold leaf squares onto the sticky scented spots sealing in the process.
