Guardian spirits of the wall gates
The guardians of city gates are a rare breed these days. Luckily in the ancient city of Lopburi they have preserved the historical walls and gate guardians. This wooden san jaothi is perched high up on a pile of bricks surrounded by offerings of water bottles. We chant an intention of goodwill to the spirits as we pass through the gate, “May no evil or harm pass through these gates, and may all beings be happy, be peaceful and be free.”
