Thai people believe that trees have spirits. And just like there are many different species of trees, there are many kinds of tree spirits. Some are angels (thewaada) and others are tree nyphs (nang mai). The spirit houses placed next to trees give us clues as to what kind of spirit is in the tree. This slideshow discovers a variety of spirit houses in the forest of Thailand offered to some very special trees.
