Meet the land guardians. Their names are Da-Yai, a dynamic duo of ageless guardian spirits that protect the land. They may look old, but this powerful little couple means business. First of all they need a home, called a saan chao thi, the spirit house of the land guardians. They also like offerings of fresh flowers, incense, food and beetle nut. Thais believe that the land guardian spirits are always watching over their property to protect it from harm and grant wishes in exchange for offerings.
